Considered to be one of Quentin Tarantino’s most ambitious projects of his career, the Kill Bill films were incredibly successful when they were released in 2003 and 2004. They have seemed to outlast time and they still stand as some of Tarantino’s most popular films ever. In the movies, Uma Thurman wows audiences with her performance and the action-film captivated with it’s interesting plot and Wonderfully placed cast. Here are some of the actors and actresses who played key roles in the films and what they’re doing these days.
Ambrosia Kelley As Nikki
Ambrosia Kelley plays little Nikki in the film Kill Bill Vol. 1 and she is the last person to see her mother, Veronica Green alive before she loses to her fight with The Bride. It may be an incredibly small role, but it is heartbreaking to watch her be undeniably upset when she sees her dead mother and the kitchen. She has a short, but meaningful interaction with The Bride, when she tells her to come find her in the future “if you still feel raw about it”. This interaction made fans believe there would eventually be a sequel one day.
These days, Ambrosia Kelley is still most known for her role in Kill Bill, but she did do some work in television series and movies asa child actress. As a teenager, she made an appearance on the television series, “How to Rock.” Since then, she hasn’t made many acting appearances as it looks like she has taken a step back from the spotlight.
Vivica A. Fox as Vernita Green
Veronica Green is the first within the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad to be hunted down by The Bride. Their meeting does not go well for Veronica as she successfully convinces The Bride to handle their differences away from her daughter’s eyes, but then makes the mistake of trying to shoot The Bride with a hidden pistol which ultimately leads to her death.
It seems that Vivica Fox has become one of the most ranged actresses in Hollywood, appearing in blockbuster hits like the Independence Day movies and Soul Food. She’s also done many voice acting roles, independent films and many television series. She appeared regularly on the show “Empire” and was announced as part of the cast for Sharknado 6.
Jun Kunimura as Boss Tanaka
Boss Tanaka was a rival of O-Ren Ishii and learned the hard way that she was certainly not someone to pick a fight with. He thought she had a weakness that could be exploited and he was very quick proven wrong. It’s an incredibly memorable scene when O-Ren reveals that she has beheaded her rival and then dares her other enemies to challenge her.
Jun Kunimura has a long resume with over 170 acting credits to his name. He is best known in the United States for his role in Kill Bill, but he also played roles in Auditionand Ichi the Killer, films that were made in Japan but had a cult following in the United States.
David Caradine As Bill
Bill is the character the films are named after and he is the focal point in The Bride’s plan for vengeance of the entire journey. When she comes face to face with Bill finally, his calm demeanor and revelation that her daughter is in fact alive made her rethink her plan. However, in the end Bill accepts his fate and realizes that he in fact deserves what eventually happens to him.
David’s father, John was a very famous and successful actor in Hollywood. He was known for the hit series Kung Fu which ran for four years in the 90s and inspired Quentin Tarantino himself. He also appeared in Bound for Glory, and he passed in 2009 at 72 years old.
Uma Thurman As The Bride
The Bride, who’s name is eventually shown to be Beatrix Kiddo, is the star character in the Kill Bill films. She is motivated by her desire to get revenge on her former assassin squad who killed her fiancé, friends, and then put her in a coma while leaving her for dead. Throughout the film she is motivated and will not stop until she gets her chance to kill Bill for herself. She begins by picking off his crew one by one.
Uma Thurman is probably the biggest star who appeared in the films, and she also starred in Quentin Tarantino film Pulp Fiction, which is considered to be one of the best films of the last thirty years. She recently acted in the television series Impostersand has starred in Down a Dark Hall, The War with Grandpa, and the film Girl Soldier, which will all debut in theaters later this year.
Daryl Hannah As Elle Driver
Elle Driver seems to be a fan favorite in the film. She’s a very loyal assassin who admires Bill and will do whatever he says, even giving up the opportunity to kill the helpless Bride early on in the first film. She eventually loses her eye and then her life in her fight with The Bride in the trailer.
Daryl Hanna is well known for her roles in 80s films Splash and Wall Street. The films represented a career resurgence for Hannah, who has acted in countless films and TV series through the length of her career. She was recently in “Sense8” and the upcoming film Vampires of Hollywood.
Chiaki Kuriyama As Gogo Yubari
One of the most recognized scenes in the film is when The Bride travels to Japan to face O-Ren Ishii and her crew including Crazy 88. Gogo is a schoolgirl who is O-Ren’s bodyguard and is a good match for The Bride’s skills. Unfortunately, she fails and becomes another victim on her revenge quest.
Back in the mid 90s, Chiaki Kuriyama had been a model, but then decided to dabble in acting. After Kill Bill, she played another fearsome and deadly character in Battle Royale in 2000. Throughout her career, she has mostly acted in Japanese cinema and TV series.
